Many of my movie and other channels are "switching to internet" even though full sunshine outside... confused
does anyone else have this happening? many channels switch to internet "satellite signal outage". many channels don't do it. sunshine - clear day. a friend 5 blocks away doesn't have it happening on the channels I mentioned to him.
anyone have this happen? anyone know the cause?
I'm thinking cable issue or HR54/500 box issue.
Update was done the other day when I was out of town.
In a bit i was thinking to "reset satellite setup".

Check your satellite signal readings and post them back here. Typically means you have marginal satellite reception. Perhaps your dish isn't properly aligned.

Thank you for flagging this, @merlin88merlin. We do not have any reported or known issues regarding this behavior at this time. Because your local weather is clear, this automatic transition to internet streaming typically indicates that your receiver is experiencing a localized signal drop on specific frequencies, likely due to a loose cable or a glitch from the recent software update. We suggest performing a red-button reset on your HR54 box and ensuring all coaxial cable connections are secure. If the issue persists, please let us know so we can take a closer look into it for you. Charles, DIRECTV Community Team

@DIRECTVhelp reset by red button - no change.
I went out of town last a wk ago and all was fine. i'm told no storms in the area while I was gone. interesting, if i go to the weather channel, and HD channel is fine. when I go to Ch 241 I get the HD issue. then when I return immediately to weather channel, it switches to internet even though it was just on satellite feed before changing channel.

Best to post back all of the satellite readings. Might be some clues there.

ran signal tests late last night
reset results the same
99 101 103
odd(13V) X + +
even(18v) + + X
+ is check mark. X is the X.
all other signal test were 93-100. weird. DTV tech coming out Tues to check as the dish and wiring is many, many years old.
@litzdog911 and @DIRECTVhelp - thanks for interest in helping.

You're missing the odd-numbered transponders on the 99(ca) satellite. I don't think that's normal. That would affect whatever channels are broadcast from those transponders. Typically points to a multiswitch or dish LNB issue. Could be a loose or corroded cable, especially if it's intermittent. Let us know what the tech finds.

Directv tech was here. appears the alignment of the dish was off a bit, due to excessive rusting of the bolts, etc. The supports were fine, but the bolts to the supports were showing their age. I do live at the beach here in FL. he replaced the 28 yr old dish (which seemed ok 2 yrs ago when receiver replaced) and connectors. all is good now and passes tests. Why it suddenly went lose w/no storms in the last several wks was interesting - just was their time I guess. He was surprised the dish and connectors lasted as long as they did. This is only the 3rd time I had a tech out after initial install. They always said the rust on the dish wouldn't hurt anything - no mention about the bolts, etc. LOL
and yes, this was a definite bad sign from the reset.

thanks for all your help. He was able to diagnose quickly due to the results from the recommendations and direction from you.
