Rewind not working on live tv
Within the last couple days, I noticed that the Rewind function is no longer working on live tv. I have reset the DVR, and rebooted the gateway, but the problem still exists. Anybody else in Chicago having this problem? Anybody have any suggestions on how to resolve the problem? I am a Uverse customer.

Does rewind work on recorded shows? If not, I'd call in and request a new remote.

Rewind works fine on recorded shows.
It is very strange. When watching live tv, and I press Rewind, you see the location bar moving extremely slowly to the left, but when you release the Rewind button, it jumps all the way to the right and the current spot in the program. It does this on multiple tv's using various remotes.

Wow. That is most certainly strange indeed. It sounds like something needs to be replaced, but since I'm just a regular customer and can't see your exact setup, I'm not sure what.
I'd be hesitant to swap the DVR because you'd lose all your saved shows.
The BGW530-900 is the newest gateway model. It's white. I'd suggest calling 800-288-2020 and swapping your gateway. Make sure you get one of those.
I'd then have AT&T run fiber to the gateway and cat-6 or whatever's newest to the DVR if you haven't done so already. If you can, swap out any/all coaxial (the round black wire) with ethernet.
If you can't, then get the wireless receivers.
So:
1) Swap the gateway with a white one.
2) Install ethernet from the gateway to the DVR.
3) Install fiber from the pole to the gateway (AT&T techs need to do this one.)
4) Make sure your receivers (additional boxes) are wireless OR connected via ethernet. I'm a fan of wireless.
You can do #1 and #4 via the mail. Once you get the new equipment, return instructions are included and you can drop that stuff off at any FedEx or UPS store. If they don't want it back and you don't feel like trying another store, hold on to the equipment. Some customers have reported getting nasty letters about failure to return equipment after being told returns aren't necessary.
If you have a tech come out, there *may* be a charge for #2. AT&T wanted to charge me so I ended up doing it myself.
