Why does the recording that's supposed to be for game 2 of the world series show game 1 instead?
My library shows two world series games, 1 and 2. When I try to watch game 2, it shows the recording of game 1 instead.
This is completely unacceptable.

The automated DVR system consolidates consecutive broadcasts into a single folder when the program titles match, which can cause the incorrect game to play back. This occurs because the system reads the matching title data as a duplicate entry rather than an independent event.
To bypass this automated folder filtering and ensure future games are captured as separate, distinct assets, manual selection from the Live Guide must be used:
Open the Live Guide right before the broadcast begins.
Locate the specific channel row and time slot for the upcoming game.
Select the individual program tile and press record to lock in that exact feed.
Access the Recording Manager to set up a manual time override if the automated consolidation persists across the matching titles.
This manual setup forces the system to recognize the specific broadcast block and list the recording independently within the library. Kenneth, DIRECTV Community Team

I have a background in video servers that goes back the '90s. One of my prime litmus tests for a successful streaming service is whether it can record the World Series without any hiccups. That was once rare, but is now routine.
Given the nature of the problem I encountered and the complexity of the proposed work-around by Direct, I have to conclude that this service is not there yet.
Please correct this bug at your end, I'll be watching the rest of the series on MLB.
