Series Recording Issues for Entertainment Tonight on ABC

Try setting it to record from the guide. That works for me sometimes when I have issues getting a show to record on a specific channel.

Live broadcasts and unexpected schedule changes can affect your recording times. If Entertainment Tonight doesn't air as planned on ABC, your DVR may look for the next available slot on another channel. To ensure Entertainment Tonight records correctly, open your Guide, find the show on ABC at 6:00 PM, and select Record Series. Next, check your DVR playlist to confirm the schedule. I followed your steps and it shows it’s taping tonight on ABC and the rest are showing to be recorded at 530am on Paramount Network.

Entertainment Tonight doesn't air on just one network. Instead, individual local stations buy the rights to broadcast it. In your specific market, your local ABC affiliate owns the rights to the brand-new daily episodes. The reason you see Paramount Network scheduled for 5:30 AM is because Paramount Network runs nationwide secondary syndication/reruns of the show early in the morning. This happened to me in the past with shows I record on CNN b/c they are also on CNN international. It eventually started recording them all on CNN.

Not sure why Directv doesn't let us choose the channel a show records on when settings up a series recording. They do on Directv Satellite.

I'm also having problems with Entertainment Tonight and Inside Edition.  Keeps losing the Series Record.  Then this morning I found two episodes I didn't record on other networks.  I've had to start doing MANUAL recordings for those two shows.  And this is a fairly recent problem.

@janice805 When this happens to me---the glitch usually clears up in like a week or so.
