Restart your receiver
If the buttons on your U-verse TV remote control don’t work, first try restarting your receiver. Just press the Power button on the receiver to turn it off. Wait a few minutes, then press the Power button to restart it.
This may fix your remote control issue.
Order a new remote control
If resetting your receiver doesn't fix the issue, you can order a replacement remote. Call us at 800.288.2020.
When you call many companies, automated help is first even during their normal business hours. However, if you say something like "representative" or "agent", it should get you to a live person (possibly with a question to make sure to the right department). If you cannot get to a real person through that, then they have a problem with their voice and transfer system (which could be one of the bumps from AT&T selling all their TV services, yet keeping some infrastructure in place for U-Verse TV as that was their creation).
If you cannot get through U-Verse support at all to a live person, a BBB complaint could be considered. That goes to the corporate level and usually results in contact back within a few business days (allow extra time for holiday of course).
Yeah chat support I have not found reliable. Too often misinformation and no logs saved to your account.
If you're lucky one of the small official forum support team might reach out, just not something guaranteed. This is still intended as user to user.
Juniper is right. I've had to say "agent" at all sorts of those menus. If not, sometimes pressing "0" works.
Those bots are used because so many people call for something that doesn't really need a live human. "Have you tried resetting your system?" or "Are all connections right?" or even "Are the batteries good?" shouldn't need an agent on the phone.
By weeding out the very basic level of help, it keeps agents free for people who truly need them.

Call U-Verse. Or see if you can order a replacement through your account online.
This is a public user to user forum. Not official support or sales.

NO U-verse to call and NO remote available to order online.
Seems like Direct TV figures I/WE will just give up and go away.
Real good customer service. When I leave U-verse, definitely
won't go with Direct TV.

Well Juniper,
This isn't my first rodeo! Called that number from house and cell phone and there is no help, only automated fake help.
Also on line it won't let you order one, as a matter of fact, it SEZ, remote no longer available to order.
Tried chat on line from desktop and tablet and get the same responce you posted that doesn't work!
That's why I wrote what I did earlier.
Was hoping someone on here knew where I could acquire a replacement.
